When to visit proctology
The reason to visit a proctologist is any discomfort in the rectum and adjacent areas, even if it is „just“ an itchy anus. Early detection of a problem always means easier treatment. If you are experiencing difficulties in this area, do not hesitate to make an appointment. Problems such as haemorrhoids, fissures in the anal canal or inflammation are not uncommon in modern times and are certainly nothing to be ashamed of, even though they affect a very sensitive area of the human body.
The most common difficulties in the anus are related to the strain of defecation. High stool pressure can disturb the normal state of the so-called haemorrhoidal zone, which is located in the transition between the anus and the anal canal. The pressure loosens or breaks the ligament, which then spits out through the anus, resulting in a condition called haemorrhoids. Another pathological consequence of high pressure during bowel movements can be anal fissures, which are caused by a tear in the lining of the anal canal. The high concentration of bacteria in the rectal and anal area can then cause inflammatory diseases in which purulent formations form in the affected area. Tumours, both benign and malignant, do not avoid the rectal area. This is why it is important not to postpone a visit to the proctologist when any problems arise or when your family health history indicates a predisposition to diseases in the incriminated area.
The most common problems leading to a visit to a proctologist

- external and internal haemorrhoids

- blood in the stool

What to expect from the examination
The advantage of examination at our private specialist clinic is the doctors‘ access to modern equipment and the latest examination procedures. Our specialists always use the most gentle methods possible and ensure the physical and psychological comfort of the client at all times.
The examining doctor will first take a medical history, i.e. discuss your medical history with you. The actual examination of the rectum and anus is most often performed in a kneeling position. Depending on the nature of the difficulties described, we use various tactile and visual methods, including instrumental examination – rectoscopy, anoscopy – with the possibility of taking tissue samples in cases where this is necessary. During the examination, we inform you in detail about the steps we perform and the sensations you can expect during them.
A routine proctology examination is not significantly painful and most clients manage it well, despite some psychological barrier before examining such a sensitive area. Whatever the reason for your visit to the clinic, you can count on a highly discreet approach. Inside the clinic it is always just you and the attending physician, and all other clinic staff are also specially trained in the sensitive approach.
